August’s Antiques & Home Show, the final big event of the summer, seems like it was only yesterday yet here we are in October about to open the gates for what is our first Autumn event which runs from Monday 5th to Tuesday 6th. Generally our busiest show of the year it is always packed with exhibitors poised and ready to get the new season off the ground so it’s a buyers paradise. Both days run from 8am - 5pm and arriving early is advisable if you plan on getting the pick of the crop.
To whet your seasonal appetite we recently published a blog, Bringing Autumn Indoors, which showcases a snapshot of what you can expect to source at our shows. It points you in the direction of Victorian radiators, log-burners, earthenware pots, carved wood, rusty metals and terracotta tiles which offer either function or colour, or indeed both, but in all cases add a touch of warmth to the home.
The show offers many traditional items such as fine antiques, art, curios, militaria, glassware, china and jewellery as well as vintage, salvage, bric-a-brac, gardenalia and pieces that appeal to the more quirky minded amongst you. The broad range available means that you have a high chance of stumbling across a one-off item, a rich character piece or something of historic value which fits perfectly into your home, be it a listed property, heritage home, new build or recent renovation.
Aspire Antiques will be joining us at Lincoln and, for 2016, plan to exhibit at our boutique style Decorative Home & Salvage Shows. You’ll find them selling all sorts of wonders on stand 704 at the Lincolnshire Showground next week including leather club chairs, salvaged window mirrors, industrial cabinets, French 19th century copper baths and maybe even the odd horse or two.
Crates, ladders and grape buckets are all perfect autumn accessories, especially for fruit harvesting or storage and you'll find plenty on sale. If its a sturdy row of wooden hallway hooks you're looking for then you won't be disappointed as they're always in abundance too. Planks have a multitude of uses around the home, garden and workplace and you could even employ a modest sized one to serve up your own Jamie Oliver inspired antipasti plank starter.
We might not have a celebrity chef on site but rest assured that the show is fully catered with tasty teas, coffees, hot meals, a bar and of course Hot Rocks who cook wood fired pizza’s to order in under two minutes - Hot Rocks are a staple at all of our two and three day events. Their pizza's are truly delicious so make sure you indulge in one - the Tuscan is a firm favourite of ours.
We hope you can join us at the Lincolnshire Showground, which is located 2 miles North of Lincoln from the A46 Lincoln by-pass. The main entrance to the Showground is at Gate 1, immediately off the A15. The postcode is LN2 2NA.
