Autumn/winter 2020/21 events update

Published 30th September 2020

After a challenging few months we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us in getting seven Covid-safe events successfully off the ground, including the launch of two new events at Beale Park and Cheshire Showground (we'll be back at Beale Park next summer and the Cheshire Market is due to return as a regular event in March). Without the skill of our team, the dedication of our dealers and the determination of our buyers we could be ending the summer on a very different note.

It’s very important to us that you know our plans - so you can plan too - so we’ve come up with a skeleton plan for the autumn/winter months…

Lincoln Antiques & Home Show news

We will be going-ahead with the Lincoln Antiques & Home Show on Wednesday 7th October as usual, but under all the necessary guidelines to protect everyone, however, due to mounting restrictions and a great deal of uncertainty we feel it’s best not to run the Lincoln show scheduled for 2nd December. We feel that restrictions which could impact on exhibitors and buyers attending, or, worse, a last-minute cancellation, would be detrimental to all. We plan to resume with the Antiques & Home Show in Spring 2021 (date to be confirmed). For clarity, we are taking stall bookings for the event on 7th October and Spring ’21 but no bookings or payments will be taken for 2nd December.

Supporting the trade with Pop-up Markets and Insta events

It’s extremely important to us that we support the antiques trade, especially through what could be a tougher winter than normal and to this end we have come up with a plan. We propose to host pop-up drive-in Antiques Markets at the Lincolnshire Showground, held at short notice, if and when the conditions are right: long-range weather forecasts, regional lockdowns, government restrictions etc. Having successfully done this with the Cheshire Antiques & Salvage Market we are confident this can be quickly and safely achieved by our excellent team. We’ll be notifying you of these events by email, newsletter (sign up for this on our homepage), on our website and through our social media, so keep your eyes peeled

After the success of our Instagram events during lockdown we will be hosting more of these, dates TBC. If you would like to register your interest in exhibiting at these please send us a direct message on Instagram @asfairs. These events are a great way to stay visible and trading whilst there are limited UK events. Just before lockdown we had 6k followers on Instagram and are now approaching the 18k mark, all other platforms have grown substantially too. We’ve worked hard to keep our interaction up and support the trade through our social channels and will continue to do so. If you’re not already following or interacting with us please do so. You can connect with us on Facebook (@arthurswallowfairs)Instagram  and Twitter (@asfairs).
